Amazon has found quite a success in its “Fire” branding, with products ranging from e-readers to stream boxes. A few years ago, Amazon entered the TV market with a streaming stick, and since then has gone on to add quite a few products in its store. Today, Amazon has announced that it is partnering up with Anker to put Fire TV in a soundbar for the first time.
The new product will be known as “The Nebula Soundbar – Fire TV Edition.”It will first and foremost be a soundbar, with the added functionality of Fire TV. Some of the details include having the ability to stream 4K UHD content along with excellent sound quality. It also supports “Dolby Vision pass-through.”
The product also comes with an Alexa enabled remote which works with voice commands. The starting price is $229.99 in the US, and it is available for preorder. It starts shipping on November 21st.
The idea of bundling a streaming OS with a soundbar isn’t something new on the market. However, it hasn’t found quite the success as I might have expected. With the backing of Amazon on this product idea, perhaps the combination might take off and lead to other companies competing with each other. Maybe one day we might see an Echo Soundbar with Fire TV directly sold by Amazon.
