G Suite Google Hangouts shutdown delayed

Google earlier had announced that Google Hangouts was shutting down for the G Suite customers. It comes as a shock since Google Hangouts is one of the company’s most popular services, amongst a ton of failures.
However, Google has announced that it is delaying the shutdown of the service till next year, as opposed to the proposed date of October this year. Reason for this delay is unknown as Google has not provided any other details.
Hangouts for G Suits users will soon break into two parts, Hangouts Chat, a competitor to Slack, and Hangouts Video, a competitor to Skype and other video calling services for professionals. The split in services comes after Google claims that it wants to make separate apps that better focus on a single aspect of communication, and individually target people. As for the exact date, when the service will shut down, is unknown.
