Ten Chinese Satellites to Monitor Tropical Sea and South China Sea

China’s Sanyan Institute of Remote Sensing is launching ten satellites that will monitor other country’s activities on the South China Sea’s tiny islets and surrounding waters.The satellites will cover area between 30 degrees north and south of the equator.

The plan is launch these satellites in a span of three years. In 2019, three optical satellites will be launched, following another three optical satellites, two hyperspectral satellites and two SAR satellites.
